Sam
My name is Samuel Jex. I’m 15 years old and I go to Lathrop High. During my free time, I love to go to the movies (especially Marvel movies), hang with friends, clean, and listen to music, play games of all sorts, and just travel. I don’t really do extra-curricular activities, other than doing drama. I have done 2 plays, “Cinderella: Tales From Around the World”, and “He Had It Comin’”. My job was Web Manager. For this job, I was tasked with designing a website to put work and projects from all grade groups/levels of the students taking this summer program. I personally did the 2-3 grade
level. It was a little difficult at times and I sometimes wanted to turn into a green rage monster (such as the Hulk), but overall, it was fairly easy. I had a wonderful experience and made some great friends, and I hope to come back and do it again next year!!

I am entering my junior year of high school at Sierra High in Manteca. I love being involved with my community and school. I am part of my high school leadership, peer resource, and this writing camp only helps me learn to be an even better leadership role for when the school year starts up again. Carlee
My name is Carlee Thommes. I am almost 15 years old, and going to be a sophomore this year. This is also the first year I am doing Great Valley Writing Camp in Ripon. I am a junior coach, and I assist the activities director, Daniel. I mostly help take care of the kids, and help Daniel come up with games for them to play, which is really fun. I wanted to do this writing camp because I thought it would help me become a Writer/Illustrator, and it also just seemed like a fun thing to do. This Is definitely something I want to continue doing.
Macie
My name is Macie McPeak. This is my fifth year attending the camp and my first year being a junior coach. My position in the staff is Assistant Photo Manager along with a great senior coach to guide me, Karla. My job is very fun and it helped me learn a lot about computers and how to upload and download anything and almost everything. Hopefully I can use this experience in the future of my career of being a photographer. This experience has affected me positively in a job experience and a learning experience.l

Kensey
Hello. My name is Kensey Cope. I’m 13 years old and I go to Shasta Elementary in Manteca. This is my first year as a Coach here at GVWP, but I have been going here since I was in Kindergarten. My position as a Junior Coach was an Assistant Web Manager. My job is placing student work into the computer, then into a drive, and giving it to one of the Web Managers to download onto the website. My favorite thing about GVWP was working with the kids. I was a volunteer at a GECAC site in my school and I loved working with the kids. The same thing applied to the after school daycare. I was with the kids with the Activities Manager and the coaches being trained in this work area. The kids inspired me to be independent about my work, this is why I really enjoy the little ones. For the parents, thank you for letting me be a pleasure to your child and getting to know them.
